Northern / Western Africa, Mauritania, Mesolithic Period, ca. 15000 to 5000 BCE. A warmly-colored orange and purple chert hand tool, made to be hafted and expertly knapped, with a thick profile, curved butt, and flat blade edge. The Mesolithic saw an explosion in blade technology for North Africa, which spread along the coastal regions. Size: 2.15" W x 5.75" H (5.5 cm x 14.6 cm)
