A fascinating utilitarian object, a fishing weight carved from fossilized walrus tooth, drilled through in multiple places for attachment to a fishing line. The tooth has attained a beautifully rich patina with time. Size: 1.1" W x 6.5" H (2.8 cm x 16.5 cm)

Provenance: private southwestern Pennsylvania, USA collection, acquired in Savoonga, Alaska, USA
