**Originally Listed At $500**

Europe, probably England or France, ca. 19th century CE. An elegant ceremonial sword with a narrow, straight steel blade and a polished bronze handle. A relief floral design decorates the broadest part of the blade, just below the guard. The handle is wrapped with a metallic thread, while the guard and pommel have light decorative flourishes. This type of sword is sometimes known as a spadroon, a light sword (also called a "small sword") with a straight blade. The spadroon became popular in the 1790s with military officers in England, and it quickly spread to France and the United States. Size: 4.5" W x 39.5" H (11.4 cm x 100.3 cm)
