Description

An English George III Carved Mahogany Wingback Chair, late 18th-century 42-1/2 x 28 x 22 inches (108.0 x 71.1 x 55.9 cm) PROPERTY SOLD TO BENEFIT ONE COMMUNITY, DALLAS PROVENANCE: Collection of Mrs. Toni Chapman Brinker and the late Mr. Norman Brinker, Dallas. With later cut velvet upholstery on a serpentine crestrail and ears, scroll arms and bowed seat rail on carved cabriole legs with shell knees and ball and claw front feet. HID03101242017

Condition

Upholstery clean and in good condition with attractive rope edging. Chair is structurally sound overall with a repaired diagonal crack to proper right back leg and 1/4 inch loss to return bracket of same leg. Scattered nicks, dents, and scratches to legs appropriate for age and use. Attractive patina to legs with refreshed varnish on surface.
