An Egyptian brown steatite scarab, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, with nicely carved head, body and legs, on base, facing figure of the god Bes facing wearing feathered headdress, hole lengthwise for suspension. 14 x 11 mm. Traces of glaze, mineral deposits throughout. Ex collection of Lawrence Buchanan and Dr. Enrique von Kiguel, formed throughout the 1970's-80's.
