8 leaves of double-sided carved white jade with gilt, with a decorative title-page on the first leaf and a rendering of Buddha on the final leaf, the remainder being fine carved Chinese calligraphy in archaistic script. The jade panels measure 15.2x6.7 cm (6x2¾"), set in silk covered wooden frames 22x14 cm (8¾x5½"). Overall 23x14.7 cm (9x5¾"), and 4.5 cm (1¾") thick, wooden boards with carved Chinese lettering.
Striking jade book of Buddhist scriptures, with marks indicating the creating during the reign of Qianlong Emperor, the sixth in the Qing dynasty, who reigned from 1735 to 1796.
