Tibetan bronze figure of Akshobhya Buddha, Tsang district, c.16th century or earlier, coral and turquoise insets, silver eyes, 11.75 x 8.75 x 6.5 inches, weight 3295 grams. Akshobhya, one of the 5 Buddhas known as the jinas (victors), in his typical vajra posture with right hand facing down and left hand supporting a vajra, ornately ornamented with crown and jewelry, small coral and turquoise beads, blue pigment near top of figure, hollow bottom with crimped edges. Good condition, some beads missing or replaced with paint, other repairs made at some point notably to the element of folded hair behind the crown, missing most of the original aureole.
