A fantastic and rare Egyptian bronze figure of Osiris, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, mummiform and on integral base, wearing Atef crown with uraeus and false beard, arms folded at midsection and holding a crook and flail. On the back of the figure is the image of the goddess Isis in relief, which is unusual. H: 6 5/8 in (16.7 cm). Nice brown patina. Ex collection of Maj. James Findlay, Scotland, acquired in the 1950's-60's, thence by descent.
