Gene Roddenberry's Personally Owned Set of Vintage Golf Clubs, Bag, Pull Cart W/Letter of Provenance - This full set of vintage golf clubs with extra clubs was personally owned by legendary American television screenwriter, producer and creator of the original "Star Trek" television series, Gene Roddenberry. In 1985 Roddenberry became the first TV writer with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and was later inducted by both the Science Fiction Hall of Fame and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame. The set includes: (5) Stan Thompson handmade woods #1, #3, #5 and two #4s, TaylorMade Tour Driver 9, TaylorMade 3 Wood Driver, Walter Hagen "The Haig" 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 irons and pitching wedge, Wilson 1200 LT 2 iron, and one putter. Several of the clubs have shaft labels which read "Gene Roddenberry, Bel Air C.C. Los Angeles, CA". The clubs are housed in Roddenberry's green golf bag by The Sports Network, which has a Casa de Campo golf resort tag labeled "Roddenberry". The lot will also include Roddenberry's Bag Boy collapsible pull cart. These golf clubs come from the former personal executive assistant to the Roddenberry family (primarily for Rod Roddenberry, the only child of Gene Roddenberry and his wife Majen Barrett), who obtained the clubs while helping organizing estate sales at two of the Roddenberry homes after the passing of Majen Barrett. They will be accompanied by a signed and witnessed letter of provenance.
