A finely carved and exceedingly rare mask from the Southern Lozi peoples on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Carved wood embedded with old glass seed beads and a undeniable well handled surface patina. Provenance: Ex Dr. Michael Conner of Illinois, USA. ( Possibly field collected by him as well.) The mask measures 7.75 x 5.75 inches.
