Description

An early 19th century Coalport porcelain tea and coffee set
circa 1820, comprising eleven tea cups, twelve coffee cups, eleven saucers, a lidded sugar pot, a milk jug, a slop bowl, and two serving dishes, each designed with a cobalt blue ground inner border with gilt embellishment and painted pears, further decorated with hand painted flowers. (39)

Condition

Gilt loss throughout the service. Milk Jug: crack to handle Sugar pot: whole base cracked and re-glued on, one side handle missing 2 plates: overall good, some blue staining, gilt loss and some surface wear teacups: 5 are good (not broken or cracked, but still have signs of wear, gilt loss, and blue staining) the others have cracks, one with broken off handle (present), mainly cracks around the handles coffee cups: 9 are good (not broken or cracked, but still have signs of wear, gilt loss, and blue staining) the others have cracks Saucers: 7 are good (not broken or cracked, but still have signs of wear, gilt loss, and blue staining) the others have chips to the rim, no major cracks
