Two children (male) carved from boxwood. This pair likely served as paperweights and are Chinese. small figure of a boy whose hair is pulled back into two buns with a rectangular crop of hair in-between them. He has well defined earlobes and appears to be laughing and has adorn teeth and eyes which contrast against his wooden face. His arms and hands are anatomically incorrect as to allow the carver to accentuate the detailing of his fingers which rest on a book. His body is childlike with a thick torso, behind and plump legs. He only wears a pair of bracelets and anklets which can we seen just above his ankle. His legs rest vertically with his ankles facing upwards and the tops of his feet facing ground. His genitals, belly button and stomach folds are visible upon turning the figure.

Condition: in good condition only one with damage to his bottom right foot where three toes are missing
