Description

World War One, Great Britain Interview with WWI Pilot (5pc) An original reel-to-reel taped interview with British WWI pilot and author Arthur G. J. "Arch" Whitehouse. Whitehouse, a native of England, came as a child with his parents to the Newark, New Jersey but when War began in Europe he returned to England and enlisted in the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry. He later joined the Royal Flying Corps and served as a lst Class Air Mechanic and Observer. This interview was held at his home in Montvale, New Jersey on July 23, 1961. The tape is accompanied by a digitally remastered copy on 2 CD's. Also included with this lot: (1) "Legion of the Lafayette" by Arch Whitehouse (New York: Doubleday and Company, 1962), hardcover with dj, 338pp--dj worn, but otherwise good; (1) "The Years of the Sky Kings" by Arch Whitehouse (New York: Doubleday and Company, 1959), hardcover, 336pp. Ex library.
