9" Extremely RARE prototype face jug displaying the Shanghai glaze which was also his father, Cheever Meaders, favorite glaze. This prototype was fired in Cheever's old dilapidated kiln in 1967 which Lanier quickly replaced. No Nose holes or teeth. Signed on the bottom by Lanier Meaders in excellent condition with a small nick on the left ear. A rare opportunity to own this museum piece.
