This is an appealing watercolor by Leonard Reedy, an American artist who studied art in Chicago and was influenced by Frederic Remington, the great American Western painter. Reedy was not affluent and traded paintings for food. He was also known as “the Chicago Cowboy Painter”, and you can see that here. The Western scene is entitled “Caught With The Goods” and depicts a rustler realizing that he’s been caught, and his days are up. There is light soiling on the matte and the watercolor itself is clean. The overall size is 16 1/8 x 19 1/8 in. wide and the sight size is 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. wide.
