Aesop’s Fables have been printed for centuries and this early 19th-century French edition by Francis Barlow is a highly desirable printing. Published in 1802, this volume from Barlow’s edition features over 100 full-page illustrated engravings of animals and mythical creatures by Barlow. Barlow, a 17th-century artist, first designed his Aesop woodcuts for John Ogilby’s 1665 edition.
