Description
A GROUP OF 5 PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES, QING
China, 18th to 19th century. Consisting of 4 blue and white bottles and one grisaille porcelain bottle. The first with lotus scroll decor and apocryphal Qianlong mark to base, jadeite stopper. The second with blue and white painting depicting heavenly guards, apocryphal Yongzheng mark to base and jadeite stopper. The third a grisaille porcelain bottle, depicting a scholar on horseback followed by an attendant, reserved on white set against a black ground, base with an old collector number and tiger-eye stopper. The fourth, a finely painted Kangxi period bottle, decorated in brown and blue with a court scene, the base marked with a rabbit and with a tiger-eye stopper. The last decorated with blue and white longevity signs and with a matching blue porcelain stopper. (5)

Condition: The first with superficial scratches and a small chip to base, the second in good condition, the third broken into pieces and restored, the fourth with a tiny chip to base, the fifth with two chips to base and one to the lip, the painting with some wear.
