Wonderful as found original A. Schraders Son diving helmet. This helmet along with the Craftsweld helmet (lot 76) were found together. Both helmets were owned & used by the Construction Aggregate Company in the 1940s and early 1950s. The last job this helmet was used on was work on the lengthening the runway at the Newark New Jersey airport. After the job was complete this helmet and the Craftsweld in the next lot were going to be thrown out. One of the construction crews sons were at the site on the last day and took both helmets home keeping them until 2020! The helmet itself exhibits a fantastic green and gray patina. Except for one faceplate knob missing, the helmet is complete with all its original hardware including internal air vents and vintage communications speaker. Typical shallow water dents are evident on the top of the bonnet, none are severe. Really a very nice original example! Helmet will be accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity detailing its history. A matching serial numbered hologram decal on the inside of the helmet from Nations Attic will be applied as well to preserve the helmets history and authenticity. The display stand shown in the photos is not included. The option to purchase one after the auction will be provided.
