An Early bronze age pottery bowl, Holy Land, c. 3100 - 2200 BC, hand-modeled with rounded body and vertical mouth. The vessel is adorned with a band of netted diamond-shaped devices with solid and crossing lines above; all in a red slip. The bottom of the vessel is adorned with crossing red lines. Holes on either side suggest the vessel was likely suspended. 2 3/4 x 4 1/2 in (7 x 11.4 cm). Moderate surface wear and deposits. Ex Reed collection, UK, acquired in the 1930's - 40's.
