The deified hero with a full beard and hair of deeply drilled curly locks, the thick mustache overhanging his upper lip, the unarticulated almond-shaped eyes drilled at their inner canthi and recessed below the prominent brows; We could suggest it is loosely based on a Greek 4th century B.C. prototype by Lysippos. Very Fine condition; mounted on a custom-made stand; Museum quality example; 245x85mm; 9.653x 1.0244 in; withouth stand; 60x120mm; 2.36 x 4.72in; 2704g; Provenance: Property of a central London Ancient Art Gallery; previously from a private Oxfordshire collection, formed since the 1980s on the UK / International art market
