Lot 0766 Details

Description
A nice little T. Slaight key marked NRR "C". There are numerous roads with just an initial of "N". I tend to think it is Northern of New Hampshire because switch keys from that road definitely exist and they only use the "N" on their other hardware. Some other possibilities are Naugatuck, Nantucket, Nanticoke, etc. Because it is a Thomas Slaight product it must be pretty early (mid 1800's - 1880). It has a faint double ring on the tapered barrel. The "C" are designation is unusual. This key dates to a time with brass switch style locks were used to lock box cars to eliminate pilfering. It has an unusual bit.
