75003 BB Marbles: Folded Latticinio Swirl 27/32"
Item Details
Description
SWIRL, Latticinio core. Another exceptionally rare marble. This one is referred to by the consignor as his "Eternity Marble". This is a single-pontil, end of cane, folded, latticini core swirl. Transparent clear base. Yellow latticinio core. The core is enrobed with six narrow bands. Three pink, three white. The marble was then folded in half and formed into a sphere. This is the finest example of this type that I have ever seen. The fold is perfect. It is completely symmetrical. One pit, some tiny pinpricks, a little light wear. This is the finest example I have ever seen. Incredible! Germany, circa 1870-1915. 27/32". Mint (9.3). The marbles in Lots 2 through 6 are all from a single small collection.
