Lot 0127 Details

Description
by C. R. Savage, Salt Lake City Utah. Here is a 19th century cabinet card photograph of the grave of great Mormon pioneer and spiritual leader. A finely wrought iron fence surrounds his large horizontal gravestone and a young boy poses respectfully, his head bowed and one arm leaning on the fence. A young tree or sapling has been planted nearby. The words GRAVE of BRIGHAM YOUNG (1801-1877) are marked in the image. Houses and a large structure (maybe a temple) can be seen nearby. The back of the mount is marked C. R. Savage, Art Bazaar SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH. A Complete Assortment of Views of the Great West. Measures 4.25 x 6.5 inches. The tones are very good, with just very minor wear to mount.
