Description
BLOWN-MOLDED GII-16 INKWELL, deep olive green, applied mouth, plain base with rough pontil mark. Probably Coventry Glassworks (1815-1848), Coventry, Connecticut. 1815-1840. 1 1/2" H, 2 3/8" D.
Nearly undamaged with a couple of flakes to the edge of the mouth.
Literature: The McKearins - American Glass, pl. 120, fig. 1; and Covill - Ink Bottles and Inkwells, p. 283, fig. 1182.
Provenance: From the John & late Evelyn Teague collection, Bloomingdale, IN.
Condition
Nearly undamaged with a couple of flakes to the edge of the mouth.
