WM. GOUGH ENGRAVED COLT OFFICAL POLICE REVOLVER
Item Details
Description
SERIAL 568880. BARREL 6" CALIBER .38 SPECIAL. MADE IN 1930. This gun was obtained by the same consignor as the engraved 1911. Paul at Colt has verified that it is factory engraved per work order and is currently searching for letter but we would not be surprised to find in shipped to the same St. Louis dealer . Colt master engraver William H. Gough was active between 1912 and 1940. It too appears to have Class B scroll engraving but no gold inlay. The bone grips have toned and have the reverse deep set pony medallions with the rich blue factory finish remaining as new. Cylinder face shows it has been test fired but blue still present on face. Engraving is impeccable. Grips are toned but near mint. Trigger and hammer retain all their high polish factory blue. Under magnification, you can see a ghost drag line that has not broken through the blue finish and a pin size sport of muzzle loss. It is a solid, as new, 99.9999% original finish gun with lovely factory engraving. C&R
