Description
1891 1st ed Our Navy Civil War Headley Officers Farragut Dupont Ship Illustrated

Joel T. Headley, an American historical author, was known for his biographical works on important American military leaders, such as Grant and Sherman. His major contribution, of course, is his account of the Civil War, entitled ‘The Great Rebellion’; however, he extended his military focus beyond infantry and cavalry generals in his work “Our Navy 1861-65”.

This work deals exclusively with aspects of the American Navy in the Civil War from generals and commanders, their ships, and the role the Navy played in the war. The naval officer biographies include:

Admiral Farragut

Charles Wilkes

S.H. Stringham

S.F. Dupont

A.H. Foote

C.S. Boggs

L.M. Goldsborough

Charles Ellet

T. Bailey

C.H. Davis

And more!

This 1891 first edition is bound in a decorative blue cloth with 39 illustrations.
