SPLENDID "A.T." FRENCH BISQUE BEBE WITH CAPTIVATING EXPRESSION BY THULLIER. Marks: A 7 T. 16". Bisque socket head, plumply modeled cheeks, almond-shaped brown glass paperweight inset eyes, eyeliner, painted eye lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully-shaped and detailed lips, impressed lip corners to suggest a mystic smile, blonde mohair wig, Steiner composition jointed body with straight wrists, wears white silk frock with lavish laces and ribbon trim, fancy pink silk bonnet, black leather shoes. Comes with handmade wooden dome-top doll trunk containing old white mohair teddy bear, newer red dress and celluloid dresser set. Commentary: Andre Thullier, circa 1882. Has very desirable, expressive facial modeling, fine quality bisque, original body finish, one finger broken on right hand, some inherent firing marks and paint loss at center forehead (see photo).
