Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN HISTORICAL CERAMIC JUG / PITCHER, having dark blue transfer design featuring "WASHINGTONS. SEAT" on each side, depicting Mount Vernon at the top right, a tall-masted ship on left, and a gentleman on horseback with two people in foreground, having slightly scalloped rim with floral and scroll border decoration. Unmarked. Staffordshire and other areas. First half 19th century. 7 1/4" HOA.
Having some wear to spout, handle, and foot with light discoloration to interior, rim with minor colored over flake and adjacent minute bruise, and hairline to side of spout.

Provenance: From the collection of Theodore and the late Alvina Breckel, Oley, PA and Winnetka, IL.
Condition
