Beginning with the Roman invasion of Britain in the first century B.C., this history covers all aspects of English history though the Revolution of 1688 including the Norman Conquests, Crusades, William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Tudor Dynasty, Seven Years’ War, The English Civil War, and the Restoration of the English crown.



Allibone notes that this work was considerably censored for the first publication however, it was still popular following the first edition.
