Technique: Etching on paper
Size: 7 2/3 x 5 in, Plate: 7 x 4 1/4 in
Inscription: lower right in the plate signed(?): "Jo"
Condition: Very good condition. Especially in the upper third of the sheet and along the right and lower edges pale liquid stains are visible. There is a dark spot in the image. In the middle there is a full-page, horizontal crease. Overall, the image makes a good impression.

Description: Part of an illustration for a mythological narrative. Shown is an seated faun with a female hairstyle and posture. The goat legs refer to a male or female faun or satyr. The artistic Rocaille frame on the left is populated by Putti and breaks off abruptly on the right.

Beschreibung: Teil einer Illustration für eine mythologische Erzählung. Gezeigt ist ein angewandt sitzender Faun mit weiblicher Frisur und Haltung. Die Ziegenbeine weisen auf einen Faun bzw. Fauna oder Satyr bzw. Satyra hin. Der kunstvolle Rocaille-Rahmen links wird von Putti bevölkert und bricht rechts unvermittelt ab.

Auf dem Blattrand unten rechts befindet sich ein kleines Loch. Die Darstellung macht einen sehr guten Eindruck.
