42 volumes (of a planned edition of 50). Translated into English by Edith Mary Norris. Numerous full page and in-text illustrations including photogravures and etchings; includes original etchings by John Sloan, William Glackens et al. (8vo) 22.6x15.3 cm (9x6"), blue niger half-morocco ruled and stamped in gilt, lettered on spine in gilt with color inlaid floral ornaments on spines, top edges gilt, others untrimmed, marbled endpapers, descriptive tissue guards. No. 100 from the Memorial Edition, limited to 250 sets.

A very handsomely bound set. Illustrations include a number original etchings by John Sloan and other members of the Ash Can School. It does not seem that this publisher finished the fifty intended volumes in this series.
