A rare geographical study of France by Piganiol!



Piganiol de la Force was an 18th-century French author known almost exclusively for his enormous descriptive work of the geographical history of France, ‘Description de la France’. Force’s monumental work consisted of fifteen volumes, each devoted to a specific region of France and impressive folding engravings throughout. These highly desirable engravings in this tome include views of Porte Saint-Martin, Hopital Saint-Louis, Hotel de Ville in Paris, Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais, along with maps, architecture, and art.
