Description
Barry Goldwater & Anti-LBJ Campaign Pinbacks & Memorabilia, 65+ Pcs

A choice collection of over 65 pieces of campaign memorabilia relating to the 1964 presidential campaign of Republican Party challenger Barry Goldwater. Pieces include pinback buttons and jugates, lapel pins, ribbons, and campaign button tabs. Displayed in an aesthetically pleasing montage on a black felt-covered mat measuring 24.375" x 16.5". The lot comes with an optional wooden and glass showcase behind which the mat was originally displayed. There are many gems in this completely unpicked collection waiting to be discovered! Provenance: From the lifelong collection of a Greenwich, Connecticut gentleman.

This assortment of memorabilia includes excellent anti-LBJ examples, such as "LBJ's for LBJ!"

"Goldwater-Miller, A Choice Not an Echo"

and "Lady Bird Start Flying, Barry is Coming" buttons. Despite arousing considerable support, Goldwater received only 38% of the popular vote and 52 Electoral College votes in the 1964 presidential election. Expected wear throughout commensurate with age including isolated stains, else near fine.

Candidates whose images or names are featured include:
- Barry Goldwater & William E. Miller (1964)
- Lyndon B. Johnson (1964)
- Lady Bird Johnson (1964)
A preliminary examination revealed the following highlights:
- "Stop Socialism, Vote for Goldwater and Miller" button
- Goldwater-Miller campaign buttons in multiple foreign languages. We have 12 examples here including Spanish, Polish, Russian, and Croatian.

**PLEASE NOTE: This lot will require third party shipping due to the delicate nature of how the buttons are mounted.
