Description
1968 Presidential Election Campaign Pinbacks & Memorabilia, 90+ Pcs

A choice collection of 90+ pieces of campaign memorabilia related to the 1968 presidential election, representing such candidates as Robert F. Kennedy, Eugene McCarthy, and Nelson Rockefeller. Pieces include pinback buttons, coattail buttons, campaign button tabs, and unusual three-dimensional and commemorative items. Displayed in an aesthetically pleasing montage on a black felt-covered mat measuring 24.375" x 16.5". The lot comes with an optional wooden and glass showcase behind which the mat was originally displayed. There are many gems in this completely unpicked collection waiting to be discovered! Provenance: From the lifelong collection of a Greenwich, Connecticut gentleman.

A 5.25" diameter stylized peace daisy sticker emblazoned "Gene McCarthy" at center is the unique three-dimensional item in this lot. Commemorative items issued after the assassination of Democratic Party candidate Robert F. Kennedy include the poignant "America Calls Another Kennedy" button. Memorabilia demonstrates how candidates of all three major American political parties rallied the support of such special interest groups as blacks
