Description
A Large English Studio Pottery Bowl – Chris Lewis. A heavily-potted stoneware bowl standing on a sturdy round foot. Wood-fired and coated in an ash glaze. Made by renown master potter Chris Lewis (b.1951) of South Heighton Pottery, Newhaven, Sussex and boldly impressed with the two marks. Diameter 23.5cm (9.25 inches).

Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton. Brian was a friend of Chris Lewis and often visited his pottery.
