Description
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom Period, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE. A mold-formed faience stamp seal bead of an ovoid form with a stamp face bearing a right-facing lion striding towards a tall feather of Ma'at (or feather of truth). The bead has a protruding bulge on top and is flanked by two scalloped panels that conjoin just above the perforated suspension hole. The stamp face displays a proud lion and the tall feather as well as a petite feather behind the larger and a pair of horizontal striations above the lion. Covered in lustrous blue-green glaze, this is a wonderful amulet from ancient Egypt. Size: 1.1" L x 0.7" W (2.8 cm x 1.8 cm)
