Map frontispiece, 'illustrated' initial to each cahpeter opening, tailpiece vignettes to the end of most chpaters. (Lightly toned). Original brown cloth, upper cover and spine blocked in gilt and black, patterned endpapers (light damage to spine, extremities bumped [see images]). Provenance: Benjamin C. Bancroft (1859 - 1920, of Denver, early ink stamp); John 'Jack' W. Klages (1922-2008, bookplate).
An excellent copy of the first edition of the "first book that dealt exclusively with trout fishing in the Rocky Mountains" (Wetzel). An interesting provenance. Wetzel p.140; Bruns F130
