Diary Record book of places and events (see below for excerpts), 25 photos and 2 negatives, 1944 Tuscaloosa Merry Go Round Cruise Book (Unnumbered pages), USS Tuscaloosa Story Of a Warship (7 pages), crossing the Arctic Circle unofficial Certificate, Happy Truman Certificate, 1946 James Forrestal letter, 1945 Dinner Menu, Newspaper Clippings, Hand drawn portrait, 1945 Ship News, plus more... The entries start from June 20, 1943. Some diary entries. Feb 14 Underway for our invasion of Iwo., Feb 16 Arrived at Iwo. Opened fire at 0815, Feb 17 & 18 Continued Bombardment Of Iwo., Feb 19 D-Day Marines Land On Iwo Giving Our Support., April 6 66 planes shot down. Suicide planes plentiful., April 7 Left Okinawa to intercept Jap Fleet. One suicide plane hit Maryland off our starboard bow, April 9 Lost one of our planes. Pilots parachuted 4000 yards behind enemy lines. Believed Dead. There are over 110 dated entries plus much more in this diary. The diary gives a great feel as if you were aboard the USS Tuscaloosa during their WWII cruise.
