Lot 1087A Details

Description
Smith & Wesson Safety Hammerless, 3.5 in. barrel, 9 in. overall, nicknamed the 'Lemon Squeezer' or 'Smith & Wesson New Departure', a double-action revolver produced from 1887 to 1940, which incorporated an internal hammer and an external grip safety on its back-strap. The brown grip bears the distinctive monogrammed 'S&W' emblem, while the base of the butt bears the serial number '39736'. The iron barrel, frame, cylinder, loading arm and hammer all show an even grey patina, with some minor surface oxidation, handling marks and slight pitting overall. The cylinder advance is smooth, and the pistol itself fires in good order. The grip bears a small crack, else very good. The gun is housed in a brown tooled leather holster, 10.25 in. overall, which shows minor cracking towards the opening, else in very good condition.
