Alfred Brehm was a 19th-century German zoologist known for his extensive travels from Lapland and Norway down through central Africa. On his expeditions, Brehm gave numerous lectures on wildlife from all over the world, but also spent time observing animals which gave him better resources for his book ‘Wildlife and Scenes in Many Places’. This English edition, entitled ‘From North Pole to Equator’, is filled with dozens of woodcut illustrations of animals, wildlife, landscapes.
