A vintage modernist style art pottery square dish signed Lapid Israel Batia. This square dish has raised edges and a geometric / circular design in the center. It has an all over speckled background in shades of brown with a blue and brown design. According to the website C 20 Ceramics, “Lapid Pottery was formed in 1944 during British Mandate to Israel.... Lapid is certainly reminiscent of both Danish and West German pottery... (the Lapid pieces) are slip cast stoneware... is hand painted with either oxides or glaze... Lapid Pottery closed (in) 1990” The dish measures approximately 7 inches wide by 7 inches deep by 1.5 inches high. It does not exhibit any damage.
