Giant Size, $1.57 Each 1963
Screenprint on record sleeve

An original 12-inch vinyl record containing interviews with various artists including Andy Warhol, Jim Dine, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, and Robert Rauschenberg. The record was produced by technologist and art patron Johan Wilhelm “Billy” Klüver (who later helped Warhol create his floating silver cloud pillows at “The Factory”) and features artists who participated in the Popular Image Exhibition at the seminal but short lived Washington Gallery of Modern Art in Washington, D.C., April 18 through June 2, 1963. The sleeve housing the record was designed and hand printed by Warhol himself using the silkscreen method, a technique he had only recently discovered and for which he would soon become world famous for adopting.
