From theyre union, Leda produced two eggs. One containing the twins, Castor & Polydeuces.As young men the twins are often depicted with egg shaped helmets, recalling theyre unusual parentage. This sculpture is breathtaking; the surface patina is very warm & rich. The detail is fine & as you can see the movement is natural & flowing. The base is black marble with gray veining .It is a very heavy piece .Measuring 19 long x 14 wide x 15 _ high. This bronze is not signed .
