Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE; Western Europe, Medieval Period, ca. 10th to 13th century CE. A fine collection of 7 forged iron spearheads of various forms. Each has a cylindrical socketing shaft for hafting onto a pole, and a blade that tapers to a pointed tip. One is unique with incised triangular lines and dots, with a thin arm that forms a loop to one side. Each is covered in a rich russet patina. Size of largest: 10" L x 2" W (25.4 cm x 5.1 cm)
