Description
Chinese Guan type handled porcelain censer bowl having a pale blue celadon glaze. Includes fitted carved rosewood display stand. Bowl measures approx. 3" height x 6 1/2" width (7.6cm x 16.5cm). Measuresapprox. 3 3/4" height (9.5cm) overall including base. Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Retains Yamanaka & Company, London label. Prof Wu Jilu was aprofessor in Chinese Literature, and an avid collector of Chinese porcelain antiques, esp. those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He had a collection of over 100 items from China’s Sung, Yuan, Ming and QingDynasties. He had bought most of those collections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some his antique collections were auctioned by major auctionhouses, such as Sotheby’s and China’s Guardian Auction, Hong Kong.
