This stunning Kelkh Pine Cone egg, in the after Fabergé, is made of a deep green translucent enamel over a guilloche ground. Layered over the enamel are discs bordered with more than 1,000 individually set crystals. At the apex of the egg there are four larger crystals. Inside the egg is lined in eggshell velvet and resting in it is a tiny elephant made of metal which has a large stone set just above its trunk and is dressed in a howdah of brilliant red enamel guilloche that is set with several larger crystals. Astride the howdah is a mahout holding a prod. The howdah removes to reveal an interior secret compartment. The original box is included as is the little golden stand that supports the egg. Everything included is shown in photos. Measures approximately 4 in. x 2.5 in. x 4 in.; 4.75 in. with stand; 11 in. x 7.5 in. with box. Good condition, no damage or repairs to note.
