Meijer Gardens reports busiest summer in its 20-year history

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) – Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in western Michigan says it had its busiest summer season for attendance in its 20-year history. The Grand Rapids attraction announced Wednesday that it had about 280,000 visitors in total in the months of June, July and August.

BERLIN (AP) – Abstract compositions of black lines and rectangles filled with red, blue and yellow highlight a new Piet Mondrian exhibition in Berlin. But the show goes far beyond the Dutch artist’s iconic works, tracing his stylistic development from the beginning with early works featuring idyllic nature scenes with windmills, willow trees and lawns.
