NEW YORK – Ready-to-hang original works by listed artists of the 19th and 20th centuries will be offered in a Jasper52 online auction on Saturday, Aug. 26.   • Singer/songwriter Graham Nash’s collection of Underground Comix art brought in more than $1.1 million at Heritage Auctions’ Aug. 12 Vintage Comics & Comic Art Auction in Dallas. Nash, who honed his considerable talent as a photographer while on tour with Crosby, Stills & Nash, also became an avid collector of vintage images, starting with photos and later focusing on antique daguerreotypes.   •  A rash of rockers – including Ozzy Osbourne, Marky Ramone, Quiet Riot’s Rudy Sarzo and others – have donated items to the Rock Against MS Foundation’s all-star charity auction, currently under way. Rock Against MS hopes to build a facility in L.A. called “The Rock House,” where MS patients would be able to receive free services and treatments. [Read more from WMMR]
  • The International Criminal Court (ICC) ruled on August 17 that an Islamic jihadist is liable for €2.7M ($3.2M) in damages for destroying shrines in Timbuktu, Mali, in 2012. This is the first time that the ICC has made a ruling solely on cultural destruction. [Read more from the New York Times]
  • Restoration has been completed on what was once the country home of England’s most famous landscape artist, J.M.W. Turner. Tate Modern to open ceramics factory for public use

LONDON – A ceramics factory where the public can mold or cast jugs, teapots and flowers will open at Tate Modern on 28 September. Artist Clare Twomey’s installation, FACTORY: the seen and the unseen, will launch the second year of Tate Exchange which, over 2017 and 2018, will focus on the theme of production.
