Marathon Products sign, $6,900, Route 32 Auctions
An early Marathon Products (“Best in the Long Run”) double-sided porcelain sign, with iconic running man graphic, sold for $6,900 at the premiere auction of Route 32 Auctions in Indianapolis, Ind. Also, an En-Ar-Co White Rose double-sided porcelain sign went for $6,480; a Cadillac Authorized Service double-sided porcelain sign rose to $6,325; and a Chevrolet “OK Used Cars” single-sided porcelain button sign knocked down for $4,370.

Fancy yellow diamond ring tops Alderfer Auction at $33,000

HATFIELD, Pa. – Fine jewelry rose to the top of Alderfer Auction’s Fine & Decorative Arts Auction on Dec. 7. A 6.09-carat brilliant cut natural fancy light yellow diamond in platinum (above) and 22K yellow gold sold for $33,000 while a 4-carat oval diamond ring in platinum brought $20,400. Collections such as this brought much interest from around the world with bidders from over 40 countries competing. Absentee and Internet live bidding was available through LiveAuctioneers.
