Davis Museum exhibition celebrates art and life of Kanishka Raja

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Davis Museum at Wellesley College presents Kanishka Raja: I and I, an exhibition of 12 works of art from the artist’s final series that combine traditional painting with woven, scanned, printed, embroidered, and reproduced counterparts. A catalogue will also be published in conjunction with the exhibition in October 2019. The exhibition, on view in two contiguous spaces, the Joan Levine Freedman ’57 and Richard I. Freedman Gallery and in the Morelle Lasky Levine ’56 Works on Paper Gallery, runs from September 13 through December 15, 2019.

RAWR Act to authorize rewards for tips re: wildlife-trafficking crimes

WASHINGTON – If passed by the Senate, the Rescuing Animals with Rewards (RAWR) Act will authorize rewards to individuals who furnish information assisting in the prevention or identification of crimes related to wildlife trafficking, through an existing Department of State rewards program. This bill would provide another tool for law enforcement to use in cracking down on transnational organized criminal syndicates, and protect wildlife around the globe from poaching and illegal trafficking.

Architectural models: engaging with space

NEW YORK — Myles Zhang has been making architectural models by hand since he was a boy, first out of building blocks and then paper, with his models becoming increasingly complex as time went on. The New Jersey native is a graduate student at Cambridge University who uses architectural models in his classes and in architectural history seminars. He primarily makes models for his own personal enjoyment, though.
